In my recent post on Dec 20th, I introduced you the following youtube video.


In this video, Roland strongly encouraged us to post your singling "Va pensiero" on Youtube.
Be relax and feel free to sing "Va pensiero".
No need to sing well, no need to follow the lyrics of Va pensiero, just humming, singing "Lalala" is OK.

Unfortunately, there are only 6 posts so far on youtube in response to Roland's proposal "Sing Va Pensiero and be part of Royal Opera LIVE ".

I think there are so many singers who can nicely sing "Va pensiero".
Why don't you take video and post, this is very very big chance.

Have you ever wanted to sing with The Royal Opera? This is your chance!

On Monday 7 January, we’re broadcasting Royal Opera LIVE and we want you to be part of it. We’d like you to submit a video of yourself singing ‘Va Pensiero‘ – the famous slave chorus from Verdi’s Nabucco.

We want as many voices as possible – whoever you are, whatever you sound like, we want to hear you sing and we’ll feature the best during Royal Opera LIVE.

Not only that, but British composer Elspeth Brooke has been commissioned by the Royal Opera House to write a piece of music inspired by ‘Va Pensiero’, one of Verdi’s most famous arias. She will incorporate the best moments into her new work, which will premiere later in 2013.

To enter, watch the video of Rolando Villazón singing ‘Va Pensiero‘, get someone to film you somewhere interesting and sing along. If you don’t remember the words, feel free to hum along instead. Then, upload your clip as a video response to our clip on YouTube.

Royal Opera LIVE will be streamed around the world on Monday 7 January via the Royal Opera House website, The Space and the Guardian website.
